Now we're looking for someone to join us at the frontline: working directly with clients, solving real problems with AI, and helping shape what "cutting-edge" actually means in practice.

🛠️ The role

A Forward Deployed Engineer at 49x owns client problems end to end. You get dropped into a client situation, figure out what actually needs to be built, and build it, with real ownership over how the work gets done.

We're looking for someone who has taken a project from a blank repo to something running in production, and knows what that actually involves: scoping, architecture decisions, trade-offs, deployment, and the client conversations in between.

🤝 Client work: Sit with clients, understand the real problem (not just the stated one), and build the AI-powered solution that solves it.

📦 End-to-end delivery: Own projects from scoping through deployment. You're not waiting on someone else to make the calls.

🤖 AI tooling: Work at the edge of what's available, and know how to turn a new model or tool into something a client can actually use.

📚 Internal contribution: Help build out our internal playbooks and toolkit so the next project moves faster than the last.

🔗 Cross-functional work: Work directly with our engineers and founders. No layers, no approval chains.

🎯 What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with real, hands-on experience who can pick up a project and run with it.

✅ 1-3 years of professional software development experience, building and shipping real products.

🎓 A computer science / engineering degree, or an equivalent path (rigorous coding bootcamp, self-taught with a strong portfolio). What matters most is that you can show your work.

🏗️ End-to-end project experience. You've owned something from spec to production and can walk us through the decisions you made along the way.

⚡ Time at a dev shop, agency, or startup, where you got used to moving fast, wearing multiple hats, and working directly with client or stakeholder pressure.

🧠 Genuine, current fluency with AI tools. You're already using the latest models and tools in your own work.

🗣️ Strong client-facing English. You'll be in the room with clients, so you're comfortable translating between technical and business language.

🇭🇺 Native level Hungarian speaker. You will be working on Hungarian client projects as well.

🔥 High agency. You spot a problem, take it, and push it through.
