Design Engineer – Fire Sprinkler Systems

Build a career that directly supports life safety and building protection. We are seeking a Design Engineer to develop accurate, code-compliant fire sprinkler system designs for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.

This opportunity is open to experienced fire sprinkler designers as well as early-career candidates with strong AutoCAD skills who are eager to learn the industry and pursue NICET certification. Candidates outside Utah who are willing to relocate to the West Valley City area are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do

• Design fire sprinkler systems for commercial, residential, and industrial facilities
• Develop layouts for wet, dry, pre-action, and other fire protection systems
• Review architectural, structural, and construction plans to determine project requirements
• Create detailed drawings and system designs using AutoCAD and HydraCAD
• Coordinate design details with project managers, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders
• Revise drawings based on field conditions, project changes, and review feedback
• Help ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
• Maintain accurate project documentation and support projects through completion

What We’re Looking For

• Fire sprinkler or fire protection system design experience preferred
• Early-career candidates with relevant education, AutoCAD experience, and strong technical aptitude will also be considered
• Experience with AutoCAD required; HydraCAD experience strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction plans
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with project teams
• NICET certification preferred but not required
• Willingness to pursue NICET certification with company support
• Ability to work 100% onsite in West Valley City, Utah
• Local candidates and candidates willing to relocate will be considered
