We are seeking an experienced contractor to support programming, commissioning, and optimization of Atlas Copco Power Focus 8 (PF8) torque controllers at our manufacturing facility in Decatur.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, program, and commission Atlas Copco PF8 controllers.
- Develop and validate tightening strategies, PSETs, jobs, and multi-step fastening sequences.
- Perform Advanced Tool Programming (ATP) configuration and optimization.
- Configure and support Reject Management functionality, including repair/rework workflows and traceability requirements.
- Integrate torque systems with PLCs, barcode scanners, MES, and plant networks.
- Troubleshoot controller, tool, communication, and process-related issues.
- Support runoff, launch activities, operator training, and production startup.
- Document controller configurations, process settings, and troubleshooting procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven hands-on experience with Atlas Copco Power Focus controllers, preferably PF8.
- Strong understanding of torque-controlled assembly processes and fastening applications.
- Experience with Advanced Tool Programming (ATP) and Reject Management software.
- Ability to create and modify tightening strategies, jobs, and error-proofing logic.
- Experience with industrial communications and manufacturing system integration.
- Ability to work independently with Manufacturing Engineering, Controls Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Automotive or high-volume manufacturing experience.
- Launch, commissioning, and production support experience.
- Knowledge of torque traceability, quality systems, and error-proofing methodologies.
