Electrical Design & Documentation Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL – 100% Onsite

Contract: Initial 6 months with potential for long-term extension

Pay: Up to $55/hr W2 | $65/hr C2C

Cullerton Group is seeking an Electrical Documentation Engineer to support electrical drawing verification, equipment documentation, and decommissioning activities at a large industrial manufacturing facility in Chicago.

This is a hands-on role for an Electrical Engineer who is comfortable working directly with manufacturing equipment. You’ll spend time on the plant floor comparing existing electrical drawings to actual equipment, identifying discrepancies, and updating documentation to accurately reflect field conditions.

What You’ll Do:

• Review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel drawings
• Perform field verification/walkdowns of manufacturing equipment
• Identify differences between drawings and installed equipment
• Redline and update electrical drawings and as-builts
• Trace wiring, circuits, panels, motors, sensors, and other components
• Update drawings following equipment modifications or decommissioning
• Partner with engineers, electricians, maintenance, and manufacturing teams

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
• 2+ years of relevant electrical engineering/documentation experience
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Experience creating, modifying, or redlining electrical drawings
• AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical experience
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, control panels, wiring, motors, sensors, and circuits
• Manufacturing/industrial equipment experience strongly preferred
• As-built drawings and field verification experience are highly desirable
• Must be able to work 100% onsite in Chicago
