We are seeking an I&E Designer to support Instrumentation and Electrical design activities within a refinery environment. This position will be responsible for developing and revising I&E drawings, supporting Management of Change (MOC) processes, preparing design packages, and administering SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) databases.



Responsibilities


  • Create and revise Instrumentation and Electrical drawings throughout design and MOC processes
  • Prepare I&E design packages for construction
  • Provide design support throughout all phases of projects
  • Track and report progress for SPI migration projects
  • Manage and maintain SPI databases for refinery units
  • Support the migration of existing instrumentation systems into SPI
  • Perform field walkdowns and verify existing field conditions
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, construction, and other project teams
  • Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced Designers and Drafters
  • Follow applicable safety requirements while working in both office and refinery environments



Qualifications


  • Previous experience in Instrumentation and Electrical design
  • In depth knowledge of I&E design standards, methods, and practices
  • In depth knowledge of SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI)
  • Experience with SPI system or database migration
  • Experience creating and revising I&E drawings
  • Ability to perform field walkdowns in an operating refinery environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
  • AAS degree in Drafting, Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience



Required Skills


  • SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI)
  • AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Basic computer and database skills



Preferred Skills


  • Experience in refining, petrochemical, or a similar industrial environment
  • Experience with Falcon
  • Experience with SAP
  • Previous experience supporting SPI migration projects


Work Environment


This position requires work in both office and refinery environments. Candidates must be comfortable performing field walkdowns and following site safety requirements.
