About the position:

The ECA Power team is expanding our development efforts on community solar ground mounts throughout the US and we are seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to join our team. The Civil Engineer will work with our team of design engineers, project developers, and engineering consultants to design and permit prospective solar PV and energy storage projects. This position will report to the Director of Civil Engineering. In this role you will perform due diligence on prospective sites, site and storm water design specific for PV and Energy Storage installations and assist with the management and scoping with our civil & environmental consultants. This position is a strategic addition to our team as we continue to have fun growing our portfolio of renewable energy assets.


Desired skills and experience:

  • 3 plus years of full-time experience in civil site and stormwater design.
  • Knowledgeable in land development assessments using GIS data.
  • Experienced in reviewing local zoning bylaws and site development regulations to determine permits and development requirements.
  • Experienced in preparing permit applications and land development plan sets.
  • Experienced in overseeing construction activities in support of Engineer of Record.
  • Familiar with managing site assessment consultants that perform ALTA, topo and boundary surveys, wetland delineation, etc.
  • Self motivated and able to collaborate effectively with project developers, clients, consulting engineers, design, and technical personnel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • AutoCAD, GIS and MS Office proficiency is a must.
  • Passionate about renewable energy and motivated to help move us away from fossil fuels.
  • EIT with aspirations and ability to become licensed is a plus!
