The Opportunity

A well-established, privately owned engineering firm is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Daytona Beach team and support a growing portfolio of coastal building restoration projects throughout Northeast and Central Florida.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys seeing projects through from initial building assessment to construction completion. You'll work closely with building owners, contractors, and project stakeholders while developing practical solutions for building repair and restoration needs.

The position offers a strong balance of engineering, field work, client interaction, and project management, with the opportunity to develop specialized expertise in coastal building restoration and weatherproofing.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct building condition assessments and field inspections
  • Develop condition reports, repair recommendations, and project budgets
  • Consult with building owners on findings, priorities, and project options
  • Prepare bid packages and coordinate contractor bidding
  • Coordinate contractors and oversee project progress, quality, scope, and budgets
  • Build strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
  • Support project planning and new business opportunities

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Professional experience in engineering, construction, or a related technical environment
  • Florida PE preferred; engineers working toward PE licensure are encouraged to apply
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach
  • Comfortable working directly with clients, contractors, and building owners
  • Self-motivated and able to manage projects independently

Experience with structural engineering, commercial construction, building assessment, concrete, roofing, waterproofing, or building envelope systems is an advantage.

Why Consider the Opportunity?

  • Established engineering firm specializing in coastal building restoration
  • Diverse projects combining engineering, construction, field work, and project management
  • Opportunity to develop expertise in a specialized and growing industry
  • Direct interaction with building owners, contractors, and project stakeholders
  • Collaborative team environment with hybrid flexibility
  • Vehicle allowance, gas reimbursement, performance bonus, and competitive benefits
  • Health, dental, vision, 401(k), paid vacation and holidays
  • Relocation assistance available

Interested?

If you enjoy the combination of engineering, construction, field work, and working directly with people, this role offers the opportunity to take on meaningful project responsibility while developing expertise in a specialized area of the industry.

You'll work closely with clients and contractors, see projects through from assessment to completion, and build a strong understanding of the restoration process along the way.
