Location: Lakewood Ranch / Sarasota, FL

Schedule: Full-time, in-office

Position Overview

A well-established commercial real estate development company is seeking an organized and detail-oriented AutoCAD Designer to support its development team in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

This is a newly created position supporting approximately eight development managers with conceptual site plans, commercial layouts, exhibits, and presentation materials. The AutoCAD Designer will also take ownership of drawing templates, file organization, accuracy, and companywide CAD standards.

The ideal candidate has experience with civil site plans, land development, or commercial real estate projects. Retail layout experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise conceptual commercial site plans using AutoCAD
• Create layouts for retail centers, outparcels, and other commercial developments
• Produce site-plan exhibits, aerial exhibits, and presentation graphics
• Assist with preliminary layouts involving buildings, parking areas, drive aisles, access points, and other site elements
• Prepare materials supporting acquisitions, leasing, permitting, and development presentations
• Coordinate revisions with development managers and outside consultants
• Maintain organized project files, templates, layers, blocks, and drawing standards
• Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, and completeness
• Manage multiple projects and revision requests simultaneously

Qualifications

• At least two years of AutoCAD drafting or design experience preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD required
• Experience with civil drawings, site plans, land development, or commercial development plans strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret surveys, civil plans, aerials, and property information
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Civil 3D experience is helpful but not required
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, or similar graphics software is a plus
• Retail, commercial real estate, civil engineering, or land-development experience is a plus
