Mechanical Equipment Design Engineer | Advanced Manufacturing | Greenfield Facility

Are you a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys taking equipment from concept to reality?

We’re seeking a Mechanical Equipment Design Engineer to play a key role in the development and launch of a new, state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing facility. This is a highly hands-on opportunity where you’ll design, develop, integrate, and commission custom production equipment, automated machinery, fixtures, tooling, and electromechanical systems.

This is more than a traditional design role—you’ll have the opportunity to see your designs move from the drawing board through fabrication, installation, qualification, commissioning, and production startup.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop custom production equipment, automated machinery, fixtures, tooling, and mechanical systems
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, mechanical drawings, and engineering documentation
• Support equipment projects from initial concept through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and startup
• Integrate hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electromechanical systems
• Work closely with controls/automation engineers on PLC-controlled equipment
• Partner with equipment vendors, machine builders, fabricators, and contractors
• Troubleshoot equipment and support reliability, production optimization, and continuous improvement
• Participate in equipment qualification, validation, and production-readiness activities
• Help establish equipment and manufacturing capabilities for a major facility expansion

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience designing mechanical equipment, industrial machinery, automation, or manufacturing systems
• Strong 3D CAD and mechanical drawing experience
• Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
• Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and equipment schematics
• Experience taking equipment from design through installation and startup
• Strong problem-solving and project execution skills

Preferred Background

• Experience with automated assembly, robotics, electromechanical systems, PLC-controlled equipment, machine builders, equipment qualification, or new plant/startup environments is highly valued.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, energetic materials, highly regulated manufacturing, or other safety-critical environments is a plus.
