🔹 Distribution Engineer, PE
Remote | East Coast, U.S.
We’re working with an established engineering consultancy that is looking to add an experienced Distribution Engineer, PE to their growing Power Delivery team.
This is a fully remote opportunity for an engineer with strong utility distribution experience who wants to take ownership of projects while working alongside experienced engineers and project teams.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design and engineer overhead and underground distribution systems
- Lead distribution projects from initial scope through design and delivery
- Perform distribution system analysis, load calculations and voltage studies
- Develop engineering drawings, specifications and construction packages
- Work on 15kV–35kV distribution projects
- Support reconductoring, system upgrades, reliability and capacity projects
- Coordinate with utilities, clients, field teams and other engineering disciplines
- Review designs and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
- Ensure designs meet applicable NESC, NEC, IEEE and utility standards
- Participate in client meetings and provide technical/project support
What they’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Active PE license — required
- 5+ years of experience in electric utility distribution engineering
- Experience with overhead and/or underground distribution design
- Strong understanding of utility distribution systems and standards
- Experience with software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, CYME, PLS-CADD or similar
- Experience working directly with utility clients
- Strong communication and project management skills
