Software Engineer

Our client is hiring for multiple Software Engineer opportunities on a contract basis. These positions are for one year with the possibility of extension. Details are as follows:

Software Engineer I

Location: Painted Post, NY

100 % onsite

Minimum experience 0-3 years

This is an entry level role

Top requirements: Bachelors required. New grads are welcome as long as the resume reflect experience with:

• A mix of C#, Python, C++, Java, MATLAB, Web Services, Micro Services
• Familiarity with Javascript, TypeScript, Vue, React, Angular or similar web frameworks
• Experience in Version Control, e.g.: Git/GitLab/SubVersion/Visual SourceSafe

Software Engineer II

Location: Corning, NY

100% Onsite

Experience: 3 years minimum, but 5+ years preferred with the skills and experiences listed in the Required Skills Section

Required Education:

• Prefer BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

Required Experience/Skills:

• Experience developing software applications in C#/.NET for production use, system integration, or industrial applications.
• Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting software for distributed, multi-process, or integrated systems.
• Familiarity with software communication and messaging methods such as publish/subscribe architectures, message queues, or similar approaches.
• Experience with source control, software versioning, and build/release workflows using tools such as Git, GitLab, automated build systems, and package management tools.

Software Engineer III

Location: Corning, NY

This position is HYBRID: required to be onsite 3-5 days/week, depending on workflow

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of software development experience (full‑stack or backend)
• Proficiency in Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript
• Knowledge of OPC UA, SECS/GEM, TCP/IP, or message‑queuing technologies
• Experience with databases, Git, and Agile tools (Jira, GitLab)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with messaging frameworks (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, MQTT)
• Familiarity with SCADA (Ignition, znt PAC) or MES (Siemens OpCenter/Camstar)
• Experience integrating manufacturing equipment with industrial systems
• Understanding of manufacturing environments, automation, and Industry 4.0
• Experience with OSI PI or analytics platforms
• Strong debugging, problem‑solving, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
