- Performing civil engineering design for private development projects
- Taking projects through the start-to-finish design process
- Developing site/civil plans and construction documents
- Working on land development projects
- Designing site layouts, grading and drainage
- Working with stormwater management
- Designing associated site utilities/infrastructure
- Preparing engineering drawings and plans
- Coordinating with project managers, clients, municipalities and other design disciplines
- Applying applicable local/state design standards and regulations
- Supporting permitting and project approvals
- Reviewing plans and making design revisions as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- EIT/EI certification
- Civil/site development design experience
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar civil design software
- Understanding of grading, drainage and stormwater design
- Experience preparing construction drawings/plans
- Knowledge of land-development principles
- Ability to work independently on projects
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
