To strengthen our Design Engineering team in Gronau, we are looking for a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer (Design Engineering).

This is an opportunity to take a leading technical role in the development of advanced engineering solutions for one of the most highly regulated and technologically sophisticated industries in the world. Working within an international environment, you will contribute to the design and continuous improvement of critical production facilities while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and operational excellence.

Your contribution

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will act as the subject matter expert for electrical engineering within multidisciplinary design projects. You will be responsible for developing innovative and robust engineering solutions that support Urenco's strategic growth and long-term sustainability objectives.

You Will

  • Lead electrical engineering activities during feasibility studies, Front End Engineering Design (FEED): Conceptual Design and Basic Design packages.
  • Develop and evaluate technical concepts for electrical power generation, HV and LV distribution systems, UPS systems and centrifuge drive technologies.
  • Contribute to the definition of design specifications and engineering standards for electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and licensing requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering partners, suppliers and contractors.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Urenco's Group Reference Design standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement by incorporating operational experience and lessons learned into future designs.
  • Lead technical reviews and post-implementation assessments.
  • Contribute to the advancement of Urenco's Design Engineering Excellence Centre.

What You Bring

You are a technically strong and solution-oriented engineer who enjoys taking responsibility and influencing complex engineering decisions.

Ideally, You Bring

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
  • Several years of professional experience in electrical engineering within the energy, process, chemical, industrial, infrastructure or nuclear sector.
  • Proven experience delivering Front End Engineering Design (FEED ): Conceptual Design and Basic Design packages.
  • In depth knowledge of industrial electrical systems, power generation and power distribution.
  • Experienced in working with engineering standards, design specifications and quality management systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A structured and systematic working approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in international multidisciplinary teams.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality and technical excellence.

Experience in the nuclear industry is advantageous but not essential. Candidates from other highly regulated industries are encouraged to apply.
