In the role of Roadway EIT/Designer, we'll count on you to:
- Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the engineering development of urban and rural
- Develop roadway designs and plans in accordance to guidelines, standards, and specifications under the direction of a Project Engineer
- Oversee the work of CAD Designers, and possibly other roadway design professionals
- Prepare detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects
- Collaborate with Right of Way and preconstruction staff
- Participate in activities ranging from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase
- Work with client facilities and under direction of Client staff as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
- Reading and interpreting roadway and Right Of Way plans
- Experience working with TDOT
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain
- Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, familiarity and demonstrated experience with Highways and Roads engineering
- software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer required
- Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
