Job Description
V&V Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and coordinating Verification & Validation activities for the ALSTOM, a safety-critical onboard signalling system used in ETCS/ERTMS railway applications. The role ensures that system requirements are correctly implemented, tested, validated, and compliant with railway safety standards throughout the V-cycle development process.
Key Responsibilities
Verification Activities
- Review and analyze system, software, and hardware requirements.
- Ensure requirements are clear, testable, traceable, and compliant with project standards.
- Participate in requirements reviews and design reviews.
- Maintain requirement-to-test traceability.
- Define validation strategies, test plans, and test procedures.
- Create and execute functional, integration, regression, and system-level tests.
- Validate EVC3 functionalities against ETCS/ERTMS specifications.
- Support customer acceptance and project validation milestones.
- Execute tests on EVC test benches and simulation environments.
- Analyze test results and identify anomalies.
- Raise, track, and verify defect corrections.
- Produce validation reports and test documentation.
- Lead and coordinate V&V activities within the project.
- Interface with System, Software, Hardware, Safety, and Project teams.
- Monitor V&V progress, risks, and deliverables.
- Support project reviews and technical decision-making.
- Knowledge of ERTMS/ETCS signalling systems.
- Understanding of EVC (European Vital Computer) architecture and railway onboard signalling.
- Experience with the V-cycle development process.
- Requirement management tools (e.g., DOORS).
- Test management and defect tracking tools.
- Linux environment.
- Scripting/automation (Python is often appreciated).
- Configuration and test bench management.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Electronics Engineering
