Role Description This full-time Electrical Engineer role is a site based position in Clonmel. The Electrical Engineer will contribute to the design, development, and coordination of electrical systems for construction projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, safety regulations, and client requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing electrical drawings and specifications, supporting power distribution and power systems design, and collaborating with project managers, other engineers, and contractors. The role also involves performing technical calculations, reviewing site installations, assisting with commissioning activities, and resolving electrical engineering issues that arise during project execution. The Electrical Engineer will participate in project meetings, provide technical input on innovative solutions, and help optimize cost, quality, and performance across assigned projects.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering and Electricity, with the ability to apply engineering principles to building and infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience in Electrical Design, including preparation of drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of Power Distribution systems, including low- and medium-voltage installations and coordination with mechanical and structural disciplines.
- Understanding of Power Systems, including load calculations, protection schemes, and system reliability considerations.
- Fully qualified Electrician or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Familiarity with relevant Irish and international electrical standards, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
- Proficiency with CAD or electrical design software and standard office software tools.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Previous experience in construction or building services engineering is an advantage.
