We are currently seeking a Distribution Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering team in Calgary. This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects while contributing to a growing, dynamic company.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and analysis of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems
  • Conduct electrical engineering calculations aligned with industry best practices and utility standards.
  • Prepare detailed construction and design packages, including:
  • Bills of material, drawing packages, and engineering reports.
  • Coordinate design activities with municipalities, utility providers (including ENMAX and FortisAlberta), telecom providers, and private developers.
  • Participate in field site visits, customer consultations, and construction coordination
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, safety regulations, and internal QC procedures.
  • Track and manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocations for concurrent projects to deliver on-time and on-budget.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers in best practices and company procedures.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the electric utility or power distribution sector.
  • Proficiency with PLS-CADD is mandatory.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and applicable utility design standards.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License


Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with ENMAX Downtown Secondary Network design standards.
  • Exposure to MicroStation and GIS platforms
  • Experience with joint-use pole line design, street lighting, and civil/structural coordination.
  • Background in project management and stakeholder engagement.
