We deliver roadway, structural, water resources, electrical and lighting, and construction engineering solutions for DOTs, counties, and municipalities across the Midwest. The Project Engineer plays a significant role in the development of preliminary engineering studies and reports and the preparation of design plans and specifications. The Project Engineer serves as a project’s technical lead in their area of expertise (roadway, structural, water resources, or electrical). The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager on coordination with other disciplines. Tasks performed require broad knowledge of engineering fundamentals with moderate immediate supervision needed. The Project Engineer may work on several small projects at one time, reporting to the assigned Project Manager.


Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of project reports, preliminary engineering design, preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • The candidate will supervise other engineers and technicians to achieve completion of project plans
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
  • Review and checking of engineering work completed by others
  • Maintaining positive client relationships
  • Mentor staff engineers


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • 8-12 years of roadway design experience
  • Indiana Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects
  • MicroStation and OpenRoads proficiency
  • Experience on Indiana DOT projects and / or Indiana Toll Road projects
