Are you a creative problem solver who thrives designing and analyzing complex aerospace products? Safran Actuation Systems is hiring a Designer/Analyst—a key team player with initiative, flexibility, and the skills to create and analyze manufacturable solutions in a fast-evolving environment.
What You’ll Do
- Create 3-D models, outlines, and layout drawings with NX, meeting both engineering and customer requirements
- Develop Proposal Envelope Solids in customer-preferred formats
- Collaborate on 2D/3D product concepts, detailed drawings, and assemblies (NX); manage BOMs and layout part lists
- Support Model-Based Definition and manufacturing-focused digital models
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis for proper fit, function, and manufacturability
- Check drawings for GD&T accuracy and compliance to company/industry standards
- Apply structured problem-solving to improve current product designs and participate in design reviews
- Support stress and thermal analyses
- Ensure correct filing, control, and classification of design data
- Provide regular task status updates and perform related duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience
- OR
- Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience
- OR
- In absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Hands-on experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter, ideally in the design of rotating machinery
- Manufacturing and Model-Based Design experience
- Structured problem-solving and strong analytical ability
- Proven ability to operate effectively in dynamic, high-visibility environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Regularly required to work at a desk and frequently use a computer and standard office equipment
- Occasional movement within office/lab environments; may occasionally need to lift or move items up to 10 pounds
- Visual acuity to review detailed documents and information
- Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information effectively
- Must meet the physical requirements for domestic and (if required) international travel
