Senior and Lead Highway Engineers

Hire Pals is hiring on behalf of a leading international architecture and engineering consultancy for experienced Senior & Lead Highway Engineers to join their Infrastructure team in New Cairo.

This is an opportunity to work on major highway, road and transportation infrastructure projects across Egypt and the GCC, contributing to projects throughout the design lifecycle while working within a multidisciplinary international consultancy environment.

📍 Location: New Cairo, Egypt

We are hiring at two levels:

• Senior Highway Engineer – minimum 8 years of relevant experience
• Lead Highway Engineer – 14–16 years of relevant experience

What you'll be doing:

• Lead and contribute to the geometric design of highways, urban roads, junctions, interchanges and transportation corridors.
• Deliver road and highway designs from concept through detailed design and construction support.
• Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, reports, specifications and technical packages.
• Coordinate highway designs with drainage/hydrology, structures, traffic, utilities, landscape and other disciplines.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards and statutory authority requirements.
• Coordinate and respond to design reviews, tender queries, contractor queries and technical comments.
• Lead and support engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and mentoring.
• Participate in coordination meetings with clients, authorities and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support project delivery to ensure design quality, programme and budget requirements are achieved.

The Lead position carries additional responsibility for multidisciplinary project leadership, resource allocation, technical delivery strategy, QA/QC and stakeholder management.

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant road/highway design experience for the Senior position.
• 14–16 years of relevant experience for the Lead position.
• Strong experience in highway geometric design, including horizontal/vertical alignments, junctions and interchanges.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary infrastructure teams.
• Knowledge of applicable highway/road design codes and authority requirements.
• GCC project experience is highly preferred, particularly UAE, KSA, Oman and/or Kuwait.
• Strong communication skills and excellent written and spoken English.
• Previous team leadership/mentoring experience appropriate to the level being considered.

For the Lead position specifically, experience with InfraWorks, Navisworks and MS Project is also relevant to the JD.
