Senior Mechanical Engineer – HVAC

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer – HVAC to join our Cairo office. The role will be responsible for the design and technical development of HVAC systems for building projects, from concept and detailed design through to the preparation and review of technical deliverables.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in HVAC design within an engineering consultancy or design environment, with the ability to independently develop technically sound, coordinated, and code-compliant HVAC solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and perform HVAC system design for a variety of building projects, including residential, commercial, hospitality, and high-end developments.
• Develop HVAC design concepts, system selections, layouts, and detailed engineering solutions in accordance with project requirements.
• Perform and review HVAC load calculations, system sizing, equipment selection, and related engineering calculations.
• Prepare and review HVAC drawings, schematics, specifications, equipment schedules, and other technical documentation.
• Develop HVAC layouts and ensure proper integration of mechanical systems within the architectural and structural design.
• Coordinate HVAC systems with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and other disciplines.
• Review multidisciplinary models and drawings to identify and resolve design clashes and coordination issues.
• Ensure HVAC designs comply with applicable international standards, codes, authority requirements, and project specifications.
• Review technical submissions, material submittals, equipment data, and other relevant technical documents when required.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior mechanical engineers and designers.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and technical discussions with internal teams, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
• Review project deliverables to ensure technical accuracy, quality, and compliance with agreed project requirements.
• Identify design issues and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Support the project team in meeting design deliverables, quality standards, and project deadlines.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in HVAC design.
• Strong experience in the design of HVAC systems for building projects.
• Solid knowledge of HVAC design principles, system selection, load calculations, and equipment sizing.
• Good knowledge of relevant HVAC codes, standards, and engineering practices.
• Strong experience in multidisciplinary design coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Good working knowledge of Revit MEP/BIM is highly preferred.
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical drawings, calculations, specifications, and equipment schedules.
• Previous experience within an engineering consultancy, architectural design firm, or multidisciplinary design environment is preferred.
• Strong technical communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams.
