We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer (MEP) to lead the mechanical building services design and delivery on a wide variety of large-scale and technically demanding projects. This pivotal role ensures the seamless integration of sustainable, efficient, and code-compliant solutions within high-rise developments, major infrastructure, and state-of-the-art facilities. Main Responsibilities – Mechanical Engineering, Design Leadership & MEP Coordination
- Take ownership of mechanical engineering design, calculations, and specifications, ensuring compliance with the latest industry standards and regulations.
- Lead the delivery of mechanical systems including HVAC, domestic water, chilled water, heating, ventilation, and associated building services from concept through detailed design to construction stage.
- Collaborate closely with clients, architects, electrical and public health engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver fully integrated MEP solutions.
- Conduct technical reviews, select suitable equipment, and coordinate designs in BIM and digital environments.
- Oversee the work of junior engineers and designers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and quality assurance.
- Engage proactively in value engineering, sustainability analysis, and mechanical system optimisation to deliver innovative and cost-effective outcomes.
- Support site activities including attendance at project meetings, inspections, commissioning, and technical problem-solving during construction.
- Deliver clear, consistent project reporting and documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
- Significant experience in mechanical building services design and delivery within high-rise, commercial, or critical infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge of international mechanical engineering design standards, energy codes, and relevant best practices.
- Proficiency in engineering software, such as Revit, IES, AutoCAD, or similar building performance tools, with strong BIM coordination abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Track record of mentoring, coaching, or supporting less-experienced colleagues in a positive, inclusive manner.
- Proactive approach to identifying solutions and opportunities for sustainable design and mechanical innovation.
- Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, equality, and Well-being in engineering practice.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline; chartered status (CEng, MCIBSE, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
