Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyze structural systems following project specifications, codes, and standards
- Design of all structural members including but not limited to foundations, slab on grade, columns, beams, slabs, cantilevers, etc.
- Prepare building sketches\drawings showing dimensions, elevations & cross sections if needed.
- Use soil report & geotechnical investigation results to decide foundation type requirements
- Estimate the needed quantities of materials to complete projects and select them correctly based on design specifications
- Maintain updated as-built documentation and drawings for existing substations
- Perform engineering analysis/calculations to support substation designs
- Coordinate substation construction package detailing foundation and structural designs with electrical team.
- Identify, specify, and requisition all required substation materials
- Provide technical assistance for client design packages (SLDs, layouts, BOMs) for construction feasibility.
- Follow up daily with the design submittal approval.
- Participate in design meetings and provide continual input to optimize the design and minimize futile work.
- Prepare Civil Materials bill of quantities.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in same position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Advanced users of structural analysis and design software such as Staad pro, SAP , ETABS
- Strong understanding of building codes and standards
- Skilled in using AutoCAD and MicroStation for engineering and design tasks
- Competent in utilizing Google Earth and GIS applications for route analysis and spatial planning
- Advanced communication abilities and strong project management capabilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced project management skills
