The opportunity

An established company operating within the renewable energy sector is seeking a technically minded professional to support the planning and delivery of utility-scale photovoltaic projects.

You will translate project requirements into practical electrical designs, prepare technical documentation and coordinate closely with customers and internal departments throughout the project lifecycle.

Your responsibilities

  • Review customer enquiries and PV designs to assess technical feasibility and identify potential improvements.
  • Produce detailed AutoCAD drawings and layouts for ground-mounted solar installations.
  • Develop project-specific DC and string-cabling concepts.
  • Calculate cable lengths and specify suitable cables, connectors, junctions and related electrical components.
  • Prepare technical bills of materials to support costing, quotations, procurement and project delivery.
  • Resolve technical queries with customers and other project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the transfer of technical information to commercial, procurement, planning, production and logistics teams.
  • Provide technical guidance during initial installation activities, including occasional on-site support.
  • Document project changes, requirements and technical decisions.
  • Use feedback from customers and construction sites to improve internal products, solutions and processes.

Your profile

  • Completed vocational training in electrical engineering, building services, industrial electronics or electrical installation; alternatively, a technical degree or comparable qualification.
  • A background in electrical engineering, energy technology, renewable energy, technical design or project planning would be beneficial.
  • Ideally, experience designing ground-mounted PV installations, solar-farm layouts, DC cabling systems or comparable electrical infrastructure.
  • Applications are also welcomed from technically capable graduates looking to develop their careers within solar energy.
  • Confident user of AutoCAD; knowledge of specialist PV design software would be advantageous.
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and system designs and convert them into workable solutions.
  • Careful, organised and solution-focused working style.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers and coordinating across different internal departments.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional customer visits and site assignments.
  • German proficiency of at least C1 and English proficiency of at least B2.

What is offered

  • A permanent role within the growing renewable energy industry.
  • Flexible working hours and limited home-working opportunities following successful onboarding.
  • Company vehicle with private-use options.
  • Structured induction and support from an experienced colleague.
  • Individual training and professional development opportunities.
  • Independent working with direct communication and efficient decision-making.
  • Varied responsibilities across technically interesting solar projects.
  • Competitive remuneration and a broader benefits package that may include pension contributions, employee discounts, bicycle leasing and regular team events.
