Mission Design Engineer
Location: Budapest, Hungary
An exciting company in the space sector that is looking to add an experienced Mission Design Engineer to its growing engineering team.
The role will suit someone with a strong background in mission analysis, spacecraft systems or flight dynamics, who enjoys working across different areas of a space mission rather than focusing on just one subsystem.
Responsibilities
- Work on the design and development of spacecraft missions from an early concept stage.
- Analyze and optimize orbits, trajectories and mission scenarios.
- Carry out technical trade-offs and help define mission and system architectures.
- Develop spacecraft operational concepts, including nominal and contingency scenarios.
- Work on system and mission requirements and support their management throughout development.
- Contribute to FDIR, failure analysis and spacecraft autonomy activities.
- Support spacecraft and ground segment testing and the development of operational procedures.
- Work alongside engineering teams, customers, suppliers and other external stakeholders.
- Support satellite launch and early-orbit activities.
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience within space, aerospace or complex systems engineering.
- Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Space Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Strong knowledge of orbital mechanics, trajectories and mission analysis.
- Experience working on spacecraft or satellite missions.
- Hands-on experience with STK or a similar mission analysis tool.
- Background in systems engineering and requirements management.
- Understanding of spacecraft operations and mission control.
- Experience with tools such as Polarion, DOORS or similar is beneficial.
- Fluent English
- Experience with FDIR, flight dynamics, constellation missions, station keeping, LEOP, ECSS or satellite communications would be advantageous
