Job Summary


We are Seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer with 8+ years of experience in HVAC and building mechanical systems design. Responsible for engineering calculations, equipment sizing, mechanical layouts, construction drawings, and technical specifications. Experienced in commercial, institutional, healthcare, residential, education, and transportation projects, with strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit and knowledge of building codes and standards. Proven skills in project leadership, multidisciplinary coordination, construction administration, and mentoring.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience designing HVAC systems for large and complex building projects, including:
  • Education projects
  • Public housing projects
  • Healthcare projects
  • Higher education projects
  • Transportation facilities
  • Large commercial projects
  • Institutional projects
  • Residential projects
  • Strong experience in heating and cooling load calculations and equipment sizing
  • Experience preparing HVAC plans, layouts, specifications, drawings, and construction documents
  • 8+ years of experience designing simple and complex mechanical/HVAC systems
  • Strong AutoCAD proficiency
  • Revit / Revit MEP experience
  • Knowledge and practical experience applying NY and NJ Building Construction Codes & Standards
  • Experience leading HVAC/mechanical design projects and HVAC engineering teams
  • Experience coordinating with architects, other engineering disciplines, contractors, clients, and project stakeholders
  • P.E. License and LEED AP certification preferred
