Job Details:

Piping Engineer & Mechanical / Chemical Engineer

Direct Hire | $110,000 to $140,000 + Bonus

US Citizenship / Green Card & 8+ years experience Required

This is a direct-hire and permanent, hands-on engineering role focused squarely on heavy industrial and process-based facilities. The position supports piping systems for process plants, and complex energy infrastructure where constructability, code compliance, and field execution matter.

The engineer will be responsible for full-cycle piping design and stress analysis, from layout development through issued-for-construction packages, working closely with multidisciplinary teams in an industrial design environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain 3D piping layouts for process and heavy industrial systems, including pipe racks, equipment interconnects, and utility corridors.
  • Perform detailed pipe stress analysis, load case development, and restraint evaluation for operating, thermal, wind, and seismic conditions.
  • Design and coordinate pipe supports, anchors, guides, and restraints with structural and civil engineering teams.
  • Prepare piping drawings, isometrics, stress calculations, support details, and IFC deliverables.
  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, structural, and electrical disciplines to resolve clashes and ensure constructable designs.
  • Support design reviews and address technical issues through the full design lifecycle.

Required Technical Background

  • US Citizenship or current Green Card (Permanent Residency).
  • Minimum of 5 years plus of professional experience in industrial piping design and stress analysis.
  • Direct experience on industrial, energy, or process-sector projects such as oil and gas, power generation, petrochemical, chemical, or similar heavy industrial facilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASME, ANSI, and API piping codes and standards.
  • Advanced proficiency with Caesar II for pipe stress analysis.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD; experience with PDMS, SmartPlant 3D, and/or Navisworks strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, piping specifications, equipment layouts, and stress reports.
  • Working knowledge of structural steel integration, pipe rack design, and support coordination.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Typically 3–7 years of hands-on piping design and stress analysis experience in industrial or process-driven environments.
