Mechanical Design Engineer

This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop automotive underbody structures and components that balance performance, styling, manufacturing, and profitability. Responsibilities include designing structural and styled parts using materials like steel, aluminium, plastics, and composites, and utilizing manufacturing processes such as stamping and injection molding. The role also includes researching new technologies for future vehicle applications.

Key Duties

• Creating and managing 3D models, component layouts, and detailed 2D drawings using CATIA.
• Collaborating with design, testing, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure project success.
• Leading supplier part development, setting design targets, and reviewing progress for quality, cost, and performance.
• Supporting verification activities, analyzing test results, and developing solutions for design issues.
• Estimating and monitoring part costs, weight, and investment, including reviewing supplier quotations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience; recent graduates encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA) and understanding of manufacturing processes.

Majority of work is performed in an office setting, with some activities in test labs and manufacturing environments. Some overtime and limited travel are expected.
