About the Opportunity

A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to support the design and delivery of HVAC and mechanical systems for a variety of building projects. This individual will serve as a key technical resource, contributing to project design, client coordination, quality control, and mentorship of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and mechanical building systems from concept through construction.
• Prepare mechanical plans, calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
• Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors throughout project execution.
• Review shop drawings, conduct field observations, and assist with construction administration.
• Serve as a project lead/job captain, ensuring project deliverables are accurate, complete, and issued on schedule.
• Mentor junior designers and support team development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of mechanical design experience within a consulting engineering environment.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical codes, and industry standards.
• Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
