Responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and mechanical designs in Creo for customer applications.
- Manage engineering projects from concept through delivery, including planning timelines, coordinating resources, and maintaining clear communication with customers.
- Design tooling and die fixtures that meet performance, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
- Develop weldment designs that are structurally sound, cost-effective, and aligned with customer specifications.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to influence and refine engineering standards and workflows.
- Translate customer requirements into practical, manufacturable mechanical designs and documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers, supporting their development and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project outcomes and engineering practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- Strong mechanical design experience, ideally 4+ years in a professional engineering environment.
- Proficiency with Creo for 3D CAD modeling and mechanical design.
- Hands-on experience designing tooling and fixturing for multiple clients or applications.
- Ability to manage engineering projects end-to-end, including timelines, resources, and customer communication.
- Experience designing weldments and understanding structural and fabrication considerations.
- Solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles and their application in product and tooling design.
- Experience with SolidWorks for mechanical design and 3D modeling.
- Experience in tooling design and die fixture development.
- Ability to influence engineering standards, workflows, and project processes in a growing organization.
- Strong communication skills for direct customer interaction and cross-functional collaboration.
- Interest in mentoring engineers and stepping into broader leadership responsibilities over time.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Moline, IL.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
