Our client is an internationally operating technology company specializing in innovative solutions in the field of high-speed optical and measurement technologies. In a modern development environment, forward-looking products are created for demanding applications in communications, industry, and research. To support sustainable growth at the Berlin location, we are looking for a Senior RF Development Engineer (m/f/d).


Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize RF solutions for advanced optoelectronic modules and high-speed communication products
  • Design and simulate high-frequency transmission structures for microwave, millimeter-wave, and next-generation communication applications
  • Develop innovative RF interconnect and packaging concepts for optical and photonic products
  • Evaluate and optimize critical RF interfaces, including wire bonds, bump bonds, package transitions, substrates, PCBs, and connectors
  • Define RF specifications and interface requirements in close collaboration with interdisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities and assess the impact of manufacturing tolerances and assembly processes on RF performance
  • Present simulation results, technical concepts, and design recommendations to engineering teams and management


Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, Physics, or a comparable technical discipline
  • At least five years of professional experience in RF development, ideally within microwave or millimeter-wave applications
  • Strong expertise in RF transmission line design, impedance matching, signal integrity, and electromagnetic simulation
  • Experience with high-frequency packaging technologies and interfaces such as wire bonding, bump bonding, and package transitions
  • Knowledge of optoelectronic products, optical transceiver architectures, substrate technologies, or PCB design
  • Experience with RF and electromagnetic simulation tools such as AWR Microwave Office, CST Studio Suite, or comparable software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with excellent English communication skills; German language skills are an advantage
