Our subsurface utility engineering (SUE) group has a need for a Design Engineer to join their team. In this role you will have the opportunity to develop skills in report preparation, design, plans and specifications, field observation, with an emphasis on personal/career development.
What You Will Do
- Perform civil engineering design calculations; develop utility plans utilizing Microstation, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D software for Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Projects.
- Conduct field visits to job sites and gather necessary information for clients.
- Work within a team to produce engineering data for development of documents that achieve our client’s goals and objectives while meeting schedule commitments and budget requirements.
- Represent the Company in professional, civic, and political organizations and activities.
- Engage in business development efforts within the Houston area on behalf of the Company.
- Develop and deepen relationships with current and prospective clients.
- Represent the Company in client meetings when required.
- Learn SUE Technologies, electromagnetic equipment, and Trimble equipment.
What You Bring
- Proficient with the use of Microstation, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D software.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize projects.
- Ability to learn local and state design standards and procedures.
- Complex data interpretation skills.
- Adapt new concepts quickly while working under pressure.
- An undergraduate or master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Texas EIT Certification preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
