As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, your primary role will involve design and development of mechanical components and assemblies tailored specifically for the chassis in motorsport applications. Leveraging your expertise in Catia V6, you'll take charge of the entire process, from conceptualization to realization. This encompasses the meticulous design and refinement of critical components such as pedals, steering mechanisms, and suspension systems. Your proficiency in Catia V6 will enable you to navigate complex design challenges with ease, ensuring the seamless integration of these components into the overall chassis architecture. Through your innovative approach and meticulous attention to detail, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the performance and functionality of our vehicle chassis, driving our engineering efforts towards excellence and innovation.
What You Will Do
- 3D designing various mechanical parts and assemblies
- Generate 3D CAD schemes and models (assemblies, components, jigs, fixtures and test rigs) and associated drawings with CATIA V5 and/or CATIA V6
- Create Design Concepts
- Supporting client with solving various engineering problems
- Generate manufacturing documentation required by the project
- Support R&D testing in accordance with project needs
- Contribute to the definition and implementation of reliability and performance target setting
- Work collaboratively with other colleagues, engineering functions, as well as external partners critical to the development of the project to meet targets and deadlines
- Drive and execute cost-effective design solutions, able to work to budget targets
- Generating 2D drawings
- Supporting the customer in contact with suppliers
- +5 years of professional work experience
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent R&D design experience
- Automotive experience
- Very good CATIA V5 and/or CATIA V6
- Strong GD&T knowledge
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
- Experience in designing for casting, welding, Rapid Prototyping, extrusion, fabricating etc.
- Proficient English
- Composites engineering knowledge
- Management experience
