GEARS (Group Equipment Automation Robotic Systems) is the organization in EssilorLuxottica integrating the group expertise in industrial equipment R&D, engineering and manufacturing.
Inside this framework, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer, who will be responsible of designing new equipment and automation solutions inside the Thailand COE Automation team. The role is based in our automation factory in Ladkrabang, Bangkok.
Position: Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Latkrabang , Bangkok
Main Responsibilities
- Define mechanical requirements and specifications
- Develop concept design and POC (Proof of Concept) to test new solutions
- Mechanical design (3D and 2D) of a brand new machine or aimed at improving existing solutions
- Select and size commercial components ensuring compliance to standards
- Draw machining components ensuring manufacturability and cost reduction
- Define mechanical design parameters required to achieve compliance to machinery safety and ergonomic regulations (CE/UL certification)
- Generate and ensure consistency of engineering documents: drawings, BOM, spare parts list, etc
- Support manufacturing team during prototype mechanical assembly
- Industrial automation knowledge. 6-8 years experience in machine design and development
- Expert CAD tools (Solidworks / Creo parametric)
- Good knowledge of PDM/PLM systems (Windchill preferred)
- Good knowledge of machinery directives and safety standards (CE/UL certifications)
- Good knowledge of pneumatic design
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Practical and continuous improvement attitude
- Ability to work in a team
- Excellent problem solving and analysis skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Good managerial and organizational skills
