Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years in the Department of Defense contracting market of major weapon systems product development and acquisitions is preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design and analysis, preferably with a focus on electronic systems
- Proficiency in using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for design and documentation
- Familiarity with TEMPEST requirements or other security-related design considerations
- Understanding of cable management best practices for secure environments
- Experience designing mechanical solutions for military, aerospace, or other harsh environment applications
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study
- Formal education may be waived on a case by case basis depending on certification and relevant work/military experience.
- Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
- A clearance will not be sponsored
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA)
- Select appropriate materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerances for mechanical designs
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures to validate the performance and reliability of mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during development, testing, and production phases
- Collaborate effectively with electrical, software, and other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systems
- Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for design processes and methodologies
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations
