Senior / Principal Water Engineer

Flexible on location: Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton or Tauranga

We’re looking for talented civil engineers to join a dynamic team delivering large-scale stormwater and water infrastructure projects across public and private sectors. Whether you’re a hands-on Senior/Associate Engineer or an experienced Principal/Technical Director ready to lead and shape projects, there’s an opportunity for you to make a real impact.

Senior / Associate Engineer

• Lead the design, planning, and delivery of stormwater projects, from concept to construction.
• Develop and implement stormwater management plans, hydraulic modelling, and water-sensitive urban design solutions.
• Provide technical expertise on catchment, flood, and network management projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and support a culture of knowledge-sharing and growth.

Principal / Technical Director

• Lead high-profile stormwater and water infrastructure projects, providing strategic oversight and technical direction.
• Manage client relationships, drive business development, and ensure projects meet technical and commercial goals.
• Mentor senior and junior staff, shaping a high-performing, collaborative team.
• Influence project outcomes and implement innovative stormwater solutions across both public and private sectors.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Senior/Associate: 5+ years of experience in stormwater design and delivery on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Principal/TD: Extensive experience in stormwater and water infrastructure delivery, with proven leadership capability.
• Chartered status (CPEng) is advantageous but not required.
• Proficiency with InfoWorks ICM, MIKE DHI, HEC-RAS/TUFLOW, GIS, or similar tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
