Commercial Solar Design Engineer

This is a true engineering design role. You'll be responsible for creating innovative, technically robust solar and energy solutions that enable our customers to transition to a more sustainable future. Working alongside Sales, Installation, Product and Service teams, you'll turn complex customer requirements into practical, high-performing energy systems that deliver exceptional outcomes.
With a strong pipeline of commercial and industrial projects already underway, you'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of technically challenging designs while helping shape the next generation of integrated energy solutions.
Where you’ll make your mark
As one of our technical design specialists, you'll develop detailed commercial solar and energy system designs that balance engineering excellence, regulatory compliance and commercial viability. From interpreting specifications and developing detailed drawings through to energy modelling and system optimisation, you'll own the design process and provide the technical expertise our teams rely on.
You'll collaborate closely across the business, providing design guidance that supports successful project delivery while continually improving our design standards, tools and technical capability.
Your work will include commercial and industrial solar PV systems, sustainable building integrations, energy modelling, HVAC and hot-water system considerations, load calculations, and developing customer-focused solutions that align with our Home Solutions strategy.
Who are you?
You'll bring a strong technical foundation and genuine passion for sustainable energy design. You enjoy solving complex engineering problems, thinking beyond today's solution, and designing systems that perform in the real world.
You’ll bring
- Three or more years' experience designing commercial solar systems, with experience in HVAC or hot water systems highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of AS/NZS standards including 4777, 5033, 5139 and 4509, together with a sound understanding of building codes and construction practices.
- Experience using industry design and modelling software such as SolarPlus, PVSyst, TRNSYS or Revit.
- Well-developed analytical skills, attention to detail and confidence working across multiple design projects.
