Senior Gas Turbine SCR Design Engineer

Gen-Systems Power Solutions is seeking a Senior Gas Turbine SCR Design Engineer to support our dedicated SCR Engineering and Emissions Control organization in Houston.

This position will serve as a senior technical resource for the design, application, and execution of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), catalyst, and gas turbine exhaust systems used in power-generation, oil and gas, industrial, and other stationary-source applications.

The ideal candidate will bring direct experience designing or supporting custom gas turbine exhaust and catalyst systems, with the ability to translate customer emissions requirements into practical, manufacturable, and field-executable equipment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and review SCR, catalyst, and gas turbine exhaust-system configurations.
• Develop custom exhaust-system solutions based on customer emissions and operating requirements.
• Support catalyst housings, reactor sections, exhaust ducting, transitions, silencers, stacks, expansion joints, structural supports, and associated equipment.
• Evaluate exhaust flow, temperature, pressure drop, catalyst arrangement, equipment geometry, thermal expansion, structural requirements, and site constraints.
• Develop and review general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, equipment layouts, and technical documentation.
• Support catalyst-system selection, module arrangement, accessibility, replacement requirements, and equipment integration.
• Review customer specifications, RFQs, operating data, and emissions requirements.
• Support proposal development, technical clarifications, equipment scope, preliminary design, and project handoff.
• Coordinate technical requirements with catalyst suppliers, fabricators, procurement, manufacturing, project teams, and customers.
• Review supplier drawings and technical documentation for compliance with project requirements.
• Provide engineering support during fabrication, installation, startup, and field troubleshooting.
• Resolve equipment fit-up, structural, ductwork, catalyst, and system-integration issues.
• Support retrofit, catalyst-replacement, and emissions-system modification projects.
• Develop engineering standards and standardized SCR design practices.
• Mentor engineers and designers supporting SCR projects.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience with SCR systems, catalyst systems, industrial exhaust systems, emissions-control equipment, gas turbine exhaust applications, or comparable engineered equipment.
• Direct experience with SCR or catalyst systems used in power generation, gas turbine, oil and gas, or industrial applications.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment design, equipment layout, structural interfaces, exhaust ducting, and fabricated equipment.
• Experience developing or reviewing general arrangement and fabrication drawings.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable engineering design/drafting software.
• Experience translating customer specifications into engineered equipment designs.
• Experience coordinating with engineering, suppliers, procurement, fabrication, manufacturing, and project teams.
• Experience supporting equipment through design, procurement, fabrication, installation, or field execution.
• Strong understanding of manufacturability, constructability, equipment access, maintenance, and field installation requirements.
• Ability to independently review complex designs and identify technical or execution risks.
• Ability to travel to suppliers, fabrication facilities, customer sites, and project locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• 20+ years of power-generation, gas turbine, oil and gas, industrial exhaust, or emissions-control experience.
• Experience with gas turbine exhaust-system manufacturers, SCR equipment suppliers, catalyst companies, or emissions-control technology providers.
• Experience with organizations such as BRADEN, Innova Global, ATCO Emissions Management, Callidus Technologies, or comparable companies.
• Experience with both engineering design and technical drafting.
• Catalyst-system design and integration experience.
• Experience with large fabricated exhaust systems and structural assemblies.
• Experience supporting new-build and retrofit SCR installations.
• Procurement and supplier technical coordination experience.
• Experience developing standardized designs from custom-engineered equipment.
