Cabin Exterior (Plastic components) Design Engineer

Job description:

• Exterior engineer who will be in charge of development for cab exterior including bumper, Fenders, mud guard, lamps installation etc.
• Hand on experience working with Automotive OEM or Commercial Vehicle OEM
• Primary competency is required for Plastic parts design for vehicle exterior along with exterior lamp installation to vehicle. Competency for sheet metal (BIW) parts design would be added advantage
• He/she will have to create technical solutions in order to drive the project.
• To investigate for developing cab and related parts and components
• To participate the meeting with related department (include other sites)
• Make 3D CAD, 2D drawing and other necessary technical documentation
• To release the drawings and to make documentations
• Experience with Trucks front, lower front and bumper competences is preferable
• Design stage interactions with cross-functional teams such digital designers, package in charge, electrical & electronics teams, powertrain team, manufacturing team, service team and other engineering teams.
• Perform development work with understanding of modern materials and manufacturing processes
• Finding new ideas / concepts (innovation)
• Defining product QDCF (product Quality, Delivery, product and project Cost and features) in co-operation with cross-functional team
• Should have hand-on experience on defining appropriate tolerances and GD&T for various parts
• Able to coordinate with suppliers to discuss technical aspects and resolve engineering problems
• OEM experience in Product Development with experience of complete life cycle.
• Need to understand the Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for durability
• Should be able to understand FEA results and implement countermeasures in design to improve design
• Should be able to perform FMEA, RCA and Risk mitigation
• N4 or above level Japanese conversation will be frequently used. English need to use for daily work
• CAD: Creo (Hands on experience is must), Experience on UH NX shall be added advantage
• Exp level: 7-10 years
