Responsibilities
- Develop detailed civil site designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including layouts for commercial and residential properties.
- Prepare comprehensive site plans, zoning plans, and subdivision plans that comply with applicable local and state regulations.
- Design stormwater management systems, including drainage, detention, and green infrastructure solutions, with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and sustainability.
- Perform grading design for commercial and residential sites to ensure proper drainage, constructability, and alignment with project requirements.
- Design septic systems and related infrastructure in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
- Prepare and support subdivision approval packages, including technical drawings, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Develop sediment and soil erosion control plans that adhere to regulatory standards and protect surrounding environments.
- Ensure all designs are up to date with current NJDEP regulations and other applicable environmental and land development requirements.
- Collaborate directly with Professional Engineers and multidisciplinary team members to refine designs and deliver high-quality project solutions.
- Use Microsoft Office Suite to prepare reports, calculations, exhibits, and project documentation.
- Participate in project reviews, respond to regulatory and stakeholder comments, and make design adjustments as needed.
- Support continuous improvement of design standards, templates, and workflows related to civil and environmental engineering projects.
- Minimum of 4+ years of engineering design experience, preferably with an emphasis on stormwater management.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D for civil design, grading, and land development projects.
- Demonstrated experience preparing site plans, stormwater management plans, zoning plans, and subdivision plans.
- Up-to-date familiarity with NJDEP regulations and related environmental and land development requirements.
- Experience with stormwater design, drainage systems, and green infrastructure solutions.
- Proficiency in grading design for both commercial and residential projects.
- Experience with septic system design and associated site utilities.
- Knowledge of sediment and soil erosion control practices and design standards.
- Solid civil design skills across land development, stormwater, and infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, analysis, and communication.
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience working on land development projects involving zoning, subdivisions, and regulatory approvals.
- Ability to interpret and apply environmental regulations, including NJDEP guidelines, to design work.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with Professional Engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
- EIT (Engineer-in-Training) credential is beneficial.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines within a flexible work schedule.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $40.87/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
