Senior Development Engineer

I'm partnering with a growing manufacturer that is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to play a key role in the development and launch of innovative commercial products.

This is a highly visible position focused on leading mechanical product development efforts from concept through production while working closely with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and senior stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Lead product development projects through a structured stage-gate development process.
  • Design and develop high-volume injection molded plastic components and assemblies.
  • Create and review production-ready CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Partner with external manufacturing suppliers to mature designs and support successful product launches.
  • Drive technical reviews, risk assessments, design validation activities, and product release efforts.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, sourcing, and project teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure designs meet performance, quality, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership within project teams and support the growth of future engineering talent.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering best practices, standards, and processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of product development experience in a structured engineering environment.
  • Strong experience designing production-level injection molded plastic components.
  • Experience bringing products from concept through commercial launch.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD and mechanical design fundamentals.
  • Experience working with external suppliers or contract manufacturers.
  • Strong understanding of design reviews, technical approvals, risk management, and development milestones.
  • Ability to influence decisions, challenge assumptions, and drive sound engineering outcomes.
  • Proven track record supporting high-volume manufactured products.
