We are growing and are currently seeking an experienced Dispatcher to join our team TODAY.
Scope Of Role
The Dispatcher is responsible for the end-to-end management of freight movement, ensuring loads are planned, executed, and delivered efficiently while maximizing equipment utilization and maintaining strong customer relationships. This is a fast-paced, decision-driven role that requires strong operational awareness, communication, and the ability to proactively solve problems as they arise.

- Plan, assign, and dispatch drivers and equipment based on customer requirements, availability, and Hours of Service (HOS)
- Manage freight from pickup through delivery, ensuring service expectations are met
- Source and secure freight through load boards, customer communications, and internal opportunities
- Pre-plan reloads and backhauls to maximize fleet utilization and revenue
- Maintain constant communication with drivers to provide direction, updates, and support
- Communicate directly with customers regarding load status, delays, and service updates
- Monitor shipments in real-time and proactively resolve service or operational issues
- Ensure accurate entry and management of loads within the dispatch system (Axon)
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure loads are completed and ready for billing (PODs, documentation, etc.)
- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
- Support coordination of occasional oversized or overweight shipments, including basic awareness of routing and permit considerations
- Minimum 3+ years of dispatch experience in the transportation industry
- Strong understanding of flat deck and LTL operations
- Exposure to over-dimensional freight is considered an asset (not required)
- Experience sourcing freight through load boards and customer networks
- Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. transportation regulations
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
- Experience with Axon and Microsoft Office
- Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues
