Design Engineer

Astura's Design Engineer will serve as a design resource during the development process. The primary goal of the Design Engineer is to use established requirements to design devices using CAD software.
Job Responsibilities
- CAD Modeling: Responsible for modeling of complex parts using Solidworks CAD software including; design tables, surfacing, and complex assemblies.
- Manufacturing Drawings: Responsible for creating manufacturing drawings per ASME Y14.5.
- Tolerance Analysis (GD&T): Responsible for performing tolerance analysis on all interfacing devices.
- Design for Manufacturability: Responsible for working with manufacturing personnel to ensure parts can be efficiently manufactured.
- Good CAD skills
- Good understanding of fundamental mechanical principles
- Creative thinker and problem solver
- Motivated and self-starter
- Detail oriented
- Organized
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, Outlook
- Hands-on mechanical ability and machine experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Authorization to Work in the U.S.: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. Astura Medical is not currently sponsoring visas, including, but not limited to, H-1B, TN, or EAD, and we are not accepting visa transfers.
- Minimum of 1-3 years in product design
- Formal CAD and GD&T training preferred
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
