Location: Zona Franca El Coyol, Alajuela, Costa Rica

Job Type: Internship

Reports To: Senior Engineer

Duration: 4 months+

About The Internship Opportunity

We are building a talent pool of soon-to-be graduates who are eager to gain hands-on experience and grow their careers in the medical device industry. As an intern, you’ll be exposed to creative solutions, gain insight into industry standards, and contribute to meaningful project outcomes—all while maintaining professionalism and adapting to client-focused work environments.

What You Will Do

  • Assist project teams in basic engineering activities including product design, materials testing, drafting specifications, documentation, and technical reporting.
  • Learn and apply quality documentation processes such as SOPs and inspection procedures with guidance.
  • Support problem-solving efforts using basic diagnostic and engineering approaches under supervision.
  • Contribute to ensuring compliance with regulatory quality standards (e.g., FDA QSR, ISO 13485).
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients, building positive working relationships.
  • Adapt to diverse client cultures, policies, and procedures while maintaining open and respectful communication.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, respect for confidentiality, and prioritize client satisfaction in all interactions.
  • Show adaptability by accepting feedback and adjusting to dynamic project requirements.
  • Plan, organize, and deliver assigned tasks efficiently and within deadlines.
  • Participate in team discussions, presenting ideas clearly in both individual and group settings.
  • Develop systematic approaches to engineering challenges, growing problem-solving and diagnostic capabilities.

What We Are Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering (Ideally a rising Junior/Senior Class member)
  • 0–2 years of related experience (internships, coursework, or project experience preferred)
  • English: Fluent in speaking, writing, and reading
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Teams)
  • Experience with Minitab or other statistical analysis tools (preferred)
  • Experience with electronic document management systems (a plus)
