Job Description

The Instrumentations and Control (I&C) Systems Engineer will work on the design and support of I&C used to operate the Virginia Class submarine nuclear reactor plant. This involves becoming an expert in one of our various areas of I&C responsibilities; these include sensor technology, failure/fault analysis, power electronics, and procedure development. The system engineer works with experts across various engineering/science disciplines (e.g., mechanical, nuclear, computer, software, and electrical) to ensure the I&C can support safe and reliable reactor protection and control safety critical functions. Typical roles and responsibilities include:

• Defining system level requirements for design changes and modifications
• Troubleshoot instrumentation problems needed to support the Virginia Class reactor plants
• Develop technical recommendations/reports for equipment or procedure improvements
• Data analysis to identify fleet issues
• Support innovation initiatives to help improve I&C and minimize fleet maintenance burden

Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field; or Currently an Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.

Pay Range

$86,100.00 - $134,600.00 annually
