Key Responsibilities
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the below:
- BIM Modeling and Coordination
- Create and manage detailed 3D models of healthcare facilities, medical devices, and equipment layouts using Autodesk Revit and other BIM tools.
- Design and Development
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and healthcare professionals to develop efficient and innovative designs for medical spaces and equipment placement.
- Compliance and Standards
- Ensure all designs meet the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Department of Health (DOH) standards, and other relevant codes and regulations.
- Project Documentation
- Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including plans, sections, elevations, and 3D visualizations, ensuring alignment with project goals and client specifications.
- Technical Analysis
- Conduct technical analysis and feasibility studies to optimize space utilization, workflows, and safety within healthcare environments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including clinical staff, architects, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers, to integrate biomedical systems into overall building designs.
- Quality Assurance
- Conduct quality checks and audits on BIM models and drawings to ensure accuracy and consistency across projects.
- Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in BIM technology, biomedical engineering, and healthcare facility design to drive innovation and improve processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in biomedical design engineering, specifically in healthcare facility design or medical equipment planning.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards, specifically DHA/DOH standards and regulations in the UAE, and their application in design.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit is a must. Experience with other BIM tools (e.g., Navisworks) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of biomedical engineering principles, medical equipment, and healthcare facility requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on optimizing healthcare workflows and patient safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
