Do you want to work help bridge projects between R&D and the practical application towards the customers?

We are looking for a Process Engineer, who can participate in the customer trials in our Innovation Center and can help with the practical application of our R&D projects. Our customers are some of the leading companies within Food/Beverage/Nutrition and the Innovation Center helps them test processes or recipes.

Job Summary

As a Process Engineer in the Innovation Center, you will be part of a team of 4 technologists and 1 lab technician.

You will be based at our Nutrition & Health Solutions Innovation Center in Silkeborg-DK, specialized in a wide range of wet technologies within Food & Beverage business. You will be in contact with colleagues from all over the world, highly experienced in these technologies.

The Silkeborg IC is equipped with processing pilots that enable the team to conduct tests for external as well as internal customers.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

The Innovation Center team is responsible for the efficient operation of the department.

The primary mission of the Innovation Center is to meet the needs of our customers wishing to test new technologies or develop new products.

You will be involved in performing the tests, from the early discussions with the customers to understand their needs, to drafting of the final test report.

The working days are flexible in terms of hours, you should expect long days from time to time.

Other Responsibilities

  • be more specifically responsible for the mixers and mechanical separators
  • be involved in New Product Development projects when support is relevant
  • participate in equipment maintenance and overall facility including manual cleaning and automatic cleaning-in-place.
  • participate in managing the rental pilot fleet
  • take part in in-house Factory Acceptance Tests and customer training on pilot plants.
  • travel to customer sites around the world to commission the rental pilots
  • up to 20 – 30 travel days per year.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • knowledge and understanding for process technology within Food & Beverage products
  • ability to understand a P&ID diagram
  • be a good team player, with an ease in building strong relationships with your colleagues
  • ability to define problems and collect data
  • willingness to learn
  • good communication skills in English, within both wording and writing

Education And Experience

  • degree within engineering, dairy, food or chemical
  • minimum 3 to 5 years of experience within the food industry, preferably dairy industry
  • experience working with different dairy processing equipment would be an advantage
  • user level within MS-Office
  • user level within AutoCad would be an advantage
