Software Engineer - Greenfield

About the Role

Boeing Digital Services is seeking an Experienced Software Developer-Builder to support end-to-end software delivery for cutting-edge digital aircraft maintenance products. In this role, you will leverage modern AI tools, full-stack development, and cloud-native practices to build scalable, production-grade applications in an enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Application Delivery: Design, build, and deploy production-grade applications, backend microservices, event-driven architectures, and REST/GraphQL APIs.
• System Modernization: Modernize legacy enterprise systems and construct new greenfield platforms using strategies like Strangler Fig and lift-and-refactor.
• Applied AI Integration: Incorporate AI, ML, and LLM features (RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, intelligent automation) into client applications and use AI dev tools (Cursor, Claude, Windsurf) in daily workflows.
• Quality & CI/CD Engineering: Write clean, testable code; build unit/integration/system test suites; and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated delivery.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside Data Science, Architecture, Engineering, and Product teams to identify technical risks and execute features.
• Team Uplift: Participate in code reviews, pairing, and peer mentoring to drive continuous code quality and development standards.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in full SDLC application development (requirements to production support).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack web development.
• 3+ years of experience in modern software product development, integration, and delivery.
• 3+ years working in collaborative, Agile team environments using standard code reviews and DevOps/CI/CD tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of related software engineering experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in CS, Software Engineering, or related technical field (Master's in CS, AI/ML, or Data Science preferred).
• AI/ML Production Work: Experience integrating model APIs, prompt orchestration, RAG pipelines, or intelligent automation into software applications.
• Cloud-Native & Ops Tooling: Hands-on familiarity with Kubernetes, managed container services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and observability platforms.
• Enterprise Architecture: Experience with brownfield modernization, multi-cloud setups, and event-driven/microservices design in distributed environments.
• Industry Domain: Experience in aerospace, industrial, manufacturing, or similar complex environments.
