This is an opportunity to work on impactful infrastructure projects while partnering with talented engineers, operations teams, clients, and stakeholders across the organization.
This is a hybrid role in the Syracuse, NY area.
As a Principal Project Manager, you'll provide leadership for highly visible transmission and station projects, including new facilities, system expansions, rehabilitation programs, and retrofit initiatives.
In This Role, You Will
- Lead the successful delivery of large, complex power delivery projects from initiation through closeout.
- Develop project scope, schedules, budgets, cost estimates, resource plans, and execution strategies.
- Manage project risks while maintaining alignment with scope, schedule, quality, and financial objectives.
- Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover activities.
- Coordinate permitting, land rights acquisition, licensing, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, utility, and industry standards.
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, operations teams, and project stakeholders.
- Promote collaboration across engineering, design, asset management, supply chain, business operations, and commercial teams.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and mentor by sharing project management best practices and helping develop organizational capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of professional experience, including significant project management experience within electric utility, power delivery, or infrastructure environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing transmission, substation, or large-scale utility capital projects.
- Strong understanding of project planning, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, risk management, and project controls.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
- Experience navigating regulatory, environmental, permitting, and utility compliance requirements.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management scheduling tools such as Primavera.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Power delivery engineering and design experience.

- This position pays between $165,000 and $195,000 annually, depending on education and experience level, and is an exempt position. The specific amount within this range will be influenced by the work location and various factors, such as internal equity, professional skills, work experience, and pertinent education or training.
- Benefits offered include company sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement, voluntary life, disability, critical illness, accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually.
- Full time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours.
- May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.
