IT Solution Architect - SAP Commerce

The IT Solution Architect for SAP Commerce defines and owns the end-to-end architecture for a highly complex, 100% tailor-made SAP Commerce / SAP Commerce Cloud platform with extensive third-party and interface integration. The role is hands-on and works with strong AI support: an AI coding agent accelerates implementation while the architect stays in full control of the architecture, the code, and the integration landscape, ensuring scalable, secure, maintainable solutions aligned with business requirements.

The Solution Architect works with business stakeholders, product owners, and developers to shape the technical solution and roadmap. The role covers architecture across storefront, backend, integrations, cloud deployment, and non-functional requirements, with strong focus on the highly integrative SAP Commerce ecosystem and its many connected systems (SSC, CPQ, ERP, CRM, middleware, search, tax).

What You Will Do

• Define end-to-end solution architecture for SAP Commerce / SAP Commerce Cloud landscapes
• Design and govern solution blueprints across storefront, backend, APIs, integrations, cloud deployment, and operational support models
• Lead architecture decisions for connected platforms including SSC, CPQ, ERP, CRM, middleware, search, tax, and third-party services
• Translate business, functional, and non-functional requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solution designs
• Define integration patterns, data ownership, API strategies, event flows, and system boundaries across the commerce ecosystem
• Improve how AI coding support is used to accelerate and broaden delivery
• Review technical designs, guide development teams, and support implementation planning and estimation
• Ensure compliance with security, data protection, operational, and enterprise architecture standards

• Minimum 8 years of experience in software engineering, solution design, or enterprise architecture
• Ideally architecture experience in SAP Commerce / SAP Commerce Cloud environments
• Proven experience with complex integration scenarios involving SSC, CPQ, ERP, CRM, middleware, and third-party solutions
• Ideally deep knowledge of SAP Commerce / SAP Commerce Cloud architecture and platform capabilities
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration, APIs, middleware, and service-oriented architecture principles
• Proven ability to design end-to-end landscapes involving SSC, CPQ, ERP, CRM, and adjacent enterprise systems
• Strong communication skills with the ability to align business stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners
• English – Business fluency
